Educational Research for Developing Pharmacists Who Support Community Healthcare
Pharmacists are not only experts in medicines and drug therapy, but also need strong communication skills to work effectively with patients and communities. Today’s healthcare requires professionals who can empathize, assess treatment progress, and respond appropriately—not just those with technical knowledge.
My focus is on training pharmacists who can contribute to both urban and rural healthcare. I use simulation-based education, active learning, and instructional design, grounded in educational theory and practice.
As a faculty member at Hokkaido University of Science, I am dedicated to improving healthcare and pharmacy education in Japan, especially in the Hokkaido region.
