”Ecology and Infection Risk Assessment of Environmental Pathogens, with a Focus on Legionella spp.”
Our research focuses on engineered water systems, such as cooling towers and hot water supply systems. We investigate the ecology and interactions of Legionella spp., nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM), free-living amoebae (FLA), and Chlamydia-related bacteria to better understand their persistence in aquatic environments and their potential health risks. Through this research, we aim to contribute to the prevention of environment-associated infectious diseases.
